I bought it!
I borrowed this book from my local library, but I tagged so many recipes, and so many recipes that I tried turned out well, that I bought the book (and this coming from someone who doesn't buy cookbooks). If you're not completely sure about buying, why not borrow from your library first? You won't be disappointed, and you'll be looking to purchase your own copy very soon! Fantastic way to explore new recipes to keep you on program for life!

BEST HELP RECIPES FOR ME
THIS BOOK HAS THE BEST RECIPES FOR ALL WEIGHT WATCHERS.'
THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL AND NOW YOU CAN MAKE THINGS THAT ARE INTERESTING RATHER THAN JUST SO SO

Just Plain Average
I bought this cookbook in the mid 90's when I first started attending Weight Watchers. I made a few of the recipes and for the most part, was unimpressed by them. After flipping through the book again recently after re-joining Weight Watchers, I discovered that most of the recipes seemd unappealing to me or had ingredients I don't typically use. For example, one salad requires 'sushi rice,' which is difficult to make! I don't know why anyone would go to all that trouble for a salad. I'm going to try getting a different Weight Watchers cookbook and hope I have better luck with the next one.

One of My favs
This is one of my most favorite cookbooks and I am not really a cookbook person. But, I will say this-there are some wonderful recipes in this book that even my family really enjoys.

Fantastic!
Coincidently, I happened to make Mushroom Barley soup, pg. 37 and Brownie Pie on page 247 this very morning. The soup is fantastic, filling and very lowfat. The brownie pie is cooling at the moment but judging from the aroma coming from my kitchen....it will be wonderful.
LOVE the cookbook.

| Editorial Review :
It's time to revolutionize the way you think about dieting! Bestselling author Brenda Watson shares the remarkable secret that helped her take charge of her health and change her life forever. Now you can do the same! The Fiber35 Diet will show you how to lose weight and improve your health by taking advantage of the extraordinary health benefits of fiber. In recent decades, a change has taken place in America. In contrast to the fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains once prevalent in our diet, we now consume an overwhelming number and amount of processed foods filled with refined sugars and harmful trans fats. As a result, we have almost completely stripped our diet of what is quite possibly the most beneficial nutrient on the planet. In addition to helping prevent many of the major diseases of our time -- including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer -- fiber helps to increase satiety, reduce hunger, and actually decrease caloric intake. The Fiber35 Diet will show you how getting 35 grams of fiber every day is the key to losing weight and staying healthy for life. Unlike many of the low-carbohydrate, high-protein diets that currently saturate the market, the Fiber35 Diet is based on scientifically verified techniques clinically proven to help you lose weight. Most important, this diet corrects one of the most dangerous falsehoods of our time: that carbohydrates are bad. The Fiber 35 Diet teaches you a lifetime eating system that helps you shed pounds safely and effectively. This book includes: - Straightforward, easy-to-understand concepts that have been researched in detail and clinically proven.
- A personalized weight loss formula based on how many pounds you want to lose.
- Recommendations about dietary supplements and nutritious food choices.
- Healthful and fiber-rich recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
- A comprehensive strength and cardio training program designed to help you maintain your ideal body weight.
Twenty years ago, author Brenda Watson was overweight, chronically tired, and battling constant health problems. Today she inspires hundreds of thousands of people just like you with her story of personal transformation. By starting the Fiber35 Diet, you are taking the first step on your own journey.

Fiber 35 Diet
I definitely had more energy, and did lose five pounds, but it took three weeks to a month. I have to take a prescription that makes me retain all the water weight I can, so I am sure for someone else it would be really effective. I will definitely continue to incorporate its core principles into my eating habits.

Pretty Good Info
I enjoyed the information. I am already doing weight training, cardio, and 6 meals a day as Tom Venuto recommends at www.burnthefat.com . I bought some fiber choice fiber wafers at Sam's Club for cheap and I eat a few Kashi Bars each day. I am up to 40 grams a day of fiber and it does help keep everything regular.
I watched her video on PBS.

Great information for people like me
I am new to the whole organic/herbal thing. This book is the right information for me at the right time. I began this "diet" before receiving the book (I read the first 3 chapters in the book store) and I am completely satisfied! I feel better and am losing weight. She shares her knowledge in a way that someone as new to all of this as me can understand. As of 11/08, I have lost 15 lbs. I have followed this diet and have worked out using the Wii Fit. I credit both tools to the success of my weight loss. I only have 2 lbs. left to go!

Another Weightloss Guru
This is not a bad book, however I think it is written more along physical than emotional lines, i.e. it suggests a high-fibre diet of at least 35 grams a day and a balanced diet focussing on typical fruits, veggies, etc. Some exercise. But nothing along behavioural lines. For me any long-lasting programme has to start with a very deep-rooted motivation where the will to follow a healthy diet outweighs the compulsion to eat. If the book does not address that compulsion to eat, it can only be a tool, not a programme.
I am however impressed with the product range she has created and am hoping to try out her shakes. She is obviously doing well financially and I cannot help but feel a little exploited when she gives statistics on the billions that are being raked in on products, services and programmes for people who want to loose weight. Obviously she landed in the right business.
I did learn something about fiber in the diet, but in general the book did nothing to motivate me along "wow" lines.
For example: the statement that in order to loose weight, you need to use less calories. Think there is more to losing weight than just less calories. At the very basic level it requires a major overhaul of perception and attitude, training of behaviour, fundamental lifestyle changes, and yes diet as a tool. So as a tool the book is not too bad. Once I have got my attitude straightened out with wanting to loose weight more than giving up on compulsive eating, then yes, her programme may have a good place in my life. Am going to invest in the shakes.

Informative and practical
I am very happy with this book. I was more interested in improving my nutrition rather than weight loss. It is informative and an easy read. But in addition to this, it provides a lot of practical information: fiber content in different foods; recipes and sample meal plans. It couldn't be easier to follow.

SOOOO FAST and DEEELICIOUS!
I was diagnosed prediabetic with high numbers 8 weeks ago. After meeting with a nutritionist and trying to make sense of adjustments I needed to make with eating, I really felt confused...there is a lot to learn! Luckily this is the first cookbook I purchased and am so glad. I can whip up many of the dishes in just a couple minutes. The ingredients are not complicated and are easy to keep on hand. I made my Easter dinner for my whole family all from the book and no one but my husband knew it was "special" food! My husband likes how I have been cooking so no cooking two separate kinds of meals. I have bought other diabetic cookbooks but not found any other as good and simple. Most recipes in the other books have longer lists of ingredients and take much more time to prepare. I am a cooking kind of gal who ran my own bed and breakfast for ten years...I love pretty and great tasting food...this book gets gobs of stars from me!

Not just for diabetics!
We first checked this book out from our public library to test it and now we can't live without it!
The recipes are delicious and real-life friendly. We do not have diabetes in our household, but want to put healthy nutritious foods on the table.
In my view, any recipe that passes diabetic guidelines will keep the appetite satisfied and fuel our bodies appropriately. But most importantly to us, these recipies appeal to our senses in making mealtime a pleasure with foods we want to enjoy again and again.

The best cookbook I have come across
I recieved this cookbook as a gift a year or two ago after hungering after it for a very long time. What really intrigued me was that she uses real authentic recipes, that were already vegan. I'm not into "meat" subs and such things, and this cookbook is free of them. This cookbook has some of the most tasty dishes that i've made. They're very simple recipes, no "weird" ingredients. This really is my favourite cookbook. The rosemary focaccia is the simplest and tastiest bread recipe ever. I reccomend this to vegans and non-vegans alike. :]]

Really, really good!
I'm not vegan, so I originally bought this book for some healthy side-dish ideas. Since purchasing, I find myself preparing entire vegan meals at least a few times a week. The recipes are absolutely delicious. My faves so far are the ribollita, salsa romesco, and the walnut sauce-well worth buying the book even just for these three recipes alone.

Fantastic for "what should I eat tonight"
My mom bought me this book last summer while I was breastfeeding my daughter who had allergies to soy and dairy. As a vegetarian (who loves cheese), it was hard for me to cut out dairy and most vegan cookbooks heavily use soy in some form. I went back to this cookbook again and again. It's filled with recipes that I could prepare primarily from staples I have on hand in my pantry (admittedly, I have a fairly stocked pantry which includes dried porcini mushrooms, an abundance of beans, canned tomatoes, different kinds of pasta, stone ground polenta (not instant)). I usually just needed to figure out what vegetables I had available and would have most of the other ingredients available. A number of the recipes could be prepared in 30-45 minutes total, and even more required additional cooking time, but only 30-45 minutes hands-on time.
Even now that I'm able to eat soy and dairy again, I still turn to this cookbook over and over again. I find the recipes easy to follow (and amenable to changes as some do seem to call for more olive oil or salt than necessary, not to say the extra oil or salt hurts the flavor of the dish). There are lasagana recipes, multiple recipes for pesto, paella any many other dishes that I never thought of making when I couldn't have cheese, many of these I now prefer to my previous versions. Overall, we have yet to find a recipe that we haven't liked enough to fix again (and for many of them, we do fix them over and over).

no more cheese please!
I'm a vegetarian TOTALLY SICK OF CHEESE! I love cheese, but found myself putting cheese on everything as a meat substitute. I switched to toasted almonds, but this got boring too. Being not too enthusiastic about tofu, and recently going to a vegetarian restaurant which tried to re-create meat dishes with minimal success, this is a much better to approach to yummy vegetarian food...I don't miss the meat or cheese. Also, it's easy to substitute things. I often use almonds instead of pine nuts, or leave out a spice or two I don't have...makes little difference. Overall, a great book perfect for the bored vegetarian, and through making these dishes I've actually learned a lot about flavor profiles and combinations. All hail to the olive oil!

Delicious and Healthy
I was given this book as a gift when I was looking for recipes to feed my diabetic husband who also suffers from high cholesterol and is an incredibly picky eater. This book was - and is! - a godsend.
Every recipe I've tried has been tasty and simple to prepare. What's more, the nutritional information listed with each recipe helps me keep track of how it's going to influence my husband's blood sugar levels.
No, we're not vegans. We're not even vegetarians. What does that matter? This is a great cookbook any way you slice it. Whether you are interested in this book for philosophic concerns, health reasons, or simply because you love good Mediterranian food, this book is a clear winner.

Sears, food for thought
I use Sears as one of my sources for nutrition. "Use" in the sense of academic information and of food source. His theories are appealing as are his supplements, Zone Bars, Olive oil, and fish oil. Sears is persuasive. His book is valuable to me.

Question : Good high fiber food for cats?
My 17 year old needs a lot more fiber in his diet. He loves fish and chicken flavored anything, but won't eat much else. The vet tried to put him on Science Diet, but the cat wouldn't eat it. Is there a good dry food or wet even that is high in fiber?
Current diet: Friskies Seafood sensations and friskies wet food, mainly chopped or sliced.
Any suggestions?
Normally, cats are fine on their own, but mine has had a colon reduction and is being prescribed a high fiber diet to stiffen his stool up a bit. This is Vet prescribed, we (the vet and I) are looking for good alternatives to Science Diet, since his Royal Highness snubs his nose at it. Yes, he will starve himself before eating something he doesn't want.
My vet discussed w/d but decided that since it has even less flavor, no way will he go for it. The science diet was bought at the vet, in wet food. Unfortunately my cat is EXTREMELY picky. My vet tried to swap his food another time (while he was there) and the cat simply wouldn't eat for 4 days. Finally he gave up and gave the cat his old favorite, which he inhaled. Basically, if its not Ocean White fish and tuna, salmon, chicken, or salmon and chicken, don't bother putting it down, just toss it in the trash. My other cat tried to bury the SD food.
Answer:
when my cat needed high fiber, my vet told me to feed her pumpkin pie filling. from a can at the grocery store. My cat will eat anything, so she ate it up. It sounds like you may have a more picky eater on your hands, but maybe the allure of people food would be enough.
Good luck!

Question : What foods are high in fiber for a 3 year old?
What high fiber foods can I feed my son & what foods to avoid??
My doctor gave me a list but it was contradicting. It said avoid potatoes & then eat potatoes. It also said avoid rice, but eat brown rice. Also we are puerto rican so we eat alot of white rice & red or pink beans. Is that good or bad? Thank you all!
Answer:
Excellent sources of fiber are fruits and veggies, especially the skins (on those you can eat), as well as WHOLE grains.
Brown rice has more fiber than white rice, so try to switch to that if you're trying to increase fiber in your diet. You should be able to find brown rice, for about the same price as white, at just about any grocery store. Red beans are a good source of fiber, as are pink beans. Potatoes offer some, as well [some types more than others]. But, definitely try to incorporate other fruits veggies into your diet wherever you can--they offer much more than just fiber. And, now is a crucial time to teach your son to eat well and eat fruits and veggies.

Question : What are some examples of high fiber foods?
I have a thyroid problem, so i have to take this medication called syntroid. I was wondering what are some high fiber foods i should not eat while i'm on this medication. please help!

Question : High Fiber Food?
Say if you owned a grocery store and someone asked you for high fiber food with lots of vitamin A what foods would you recommend him or her?
Answer:
Liver, fish liver oils, kidneys, butter, some margarines and spreads, full cream dairy products, egg yolk are high in vitamin A.
Some sources of vitamin A that contain fiber are green leafy vegetables, broccoli, yellow and orange vegetables and fruit.

Question : What foods do you recommend for a high fiber diet?
I am dealing with hemorrhoids, and I'm only twenty two, but they have gotten pretty bad. As a result, i'm trying to eat a high fiber diet. Usually it consists of
--apples and pears
--triscuits
--raisin bran/raisin nut bran
--oatmeal
--whole grain pasta
Can anyone tell me what foods they eat that help them increase fiber in their diet? I know that regular fruits and veggies should do the trick, but its not in this case. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow, because its gotten so bad, but whether or not i have to have it surgically removed, I am still going to need a high fiber diet. It would be great if there were any snack foods you could suggest that I could munch on throughout the day. I guess you could say I'm looking for very high fiber foods in particular. A super fiber food (if you will). Any suggestions? The more specific the better.
Thanks!
Answer:
Be careful about suddenly increasing your daily fiber intake. If you suddenly add large amounts of fiber to your diet, you may experience bloating, diarrhea, and severe stomach cramping. It is best to add fiber to your diet gradually, eating small amounts of fiber rich foods. Additional fiber can be added slowly until you are consuming a healthy amount.
Tips for Eating Fiber
* Eat a variety of foods
* Do not completely rely on fiber supplements
* Limit your intake of processed foods
* Increase your fiber intake gradually
* Try to consume 25 to 35 grams of fiber every day
Types of Fiber
There are two main types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fibers dissolve in water. Soluble fibers include: pectin, guar, carrageenan, gums, mucilage, and oat bran. Insoluble fibers do not dissolve in water. Insoluble fibers include cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin.
